Oslo will be the European Climate Capital in 2019.
The EU awarded the prize to Oslo for its environmental efforts. The Norwegian capital was the top-scoring city in eight of 12 categories in the final, including air quality and solutions for transportation.
A European Green Capital is selected annually by the European Commission, which gives the award to a city that has a consistent record of achieving high environmental standards, is committed to ongoing and ambitious goals for further environmental improvement and sustainable development, and can act as a role model to inspire other cities and promote best practices to all other European cities – and for the rest of the world.
This small event has an objective to initiate project with great impact in more sustainable lifestyles, where fashion and creative industries will have a greater impact on climate change and be part of multiple solutions.
