Can smart meters and smart grids help make energy systems more sustainable?
46 households in Bergen tracked how much energy each device in their household used during 2017-2018. Along with real-time data, they got information on how to save energy and be more eco-friendly. They also saw how they perform compared to similar households. As participants in the PARENT pilot project, they talked with a team of researchers in Bergen about their thoughts on these experiences. What can we learn from such a ‘living laboratory’ experiment? Will smart meters and smart grids change our lives? In what way? Do we own our own data? How can we use it well? Join us to discuss smart grids and sustainable energy transitions!
